To the top of West Tiger Summit 3
Topographical Map of the trip generated with my GPS and DeLorme Topo USA
For the second time, Nuria and I took on West Tiger Trail 3 towards the summit. This time, instead of a skirt, Nuria took a 30lb pack on a test run for backpacking. The heavy pack slowed her down a bit.
The trip went well and we made pretty short work of the trail until the we got to the point where we turned around last week. From that point, the trail gets steeper. We got to the summit at sunset.
We took a thirty minute break at the top and it allowed me to snap some nice pictures:
Just before the turnaround, we put on our head lamps. I have a new one I bought at REI a couple weeks ago. Nuria had this ancient thing that looked like something you would use in the mines.
About half way down, I mentioned that our boss, Dave Sparks, had once seen a bear here. Since Nuria is afraid of bears, she sang most of the rest of the way down. Note to self: don't do that again unless you want your ears to bleed.
