Source Lake

My first snowshoeing trip this year (if you can call it that). We started walking out to Source Lake on the opposite side of the creek. This is the Alpental back country skiers run out back to Alpental. Lots of ski/snowboard traffic for us to be in the way for.

The trail started getting more narrow and steep on either side. I was having a problem staying upright. I decided to bag it. Cathy was disappointed, but I think Leslie was relieved. Since the trail was already fairly hard packed, there was not much snowshoeing going on.

We went off trail once for 50 yards and broke new trail. That was fun.

While I am complaining a bit about the trip, I had a lot of fun. I miss snowshoeing now that I spend my winter skiing. Next winter, I will have to spend more time with snowshoes tied to my feet.
